Web Evaluation:

One of the websites i really liked was www.epa.gov. It was seriously one of the best out of the ones I had found and looked at. It was a governmental website advocating the environment, and though it did advocate helping the environment, it did not seem biased at all because it stated how each problem faced was positively and negatively affecting different regions. All the articles on this websites were strong and informative, each supported by facts and data. It was very helpful and well organized with a broad description of the the subject, such as global warming, before breaking into smaller links leading into different sections of the articles that become more specific. Overall, it was a very well created and useful site, and I would definitely recommend it.

http://environment.yale.edu/news/5305/american-opinions-on-global-warming/ This site was very helpful for me because it gave me a lot of statistics that allowed me to get the feel for what most people think about global warming. It included many different poll results from many different areas of the issue. Because I am the sociologist, I need to analyze what most people feel or think towards environmental issues, and polling is one of the best, unbiast ways to gather data on this. This site's statistics helped me understand what people think on all of the elements of global warming, and this helped me with my project.

Web Evaluation:

One of the articles (entire Web site was actually used) that helped me greatly was "Global Warming and Pennsylvania" by Catherine Bowes. This article presented information from a legal perspective about the environment in an objective, unbiased manner. While it was clear that the author was trying to prove that global warming was a major factor in Pennsylvania, this was done in a manner that merely presented facts, rather than taking a personal stance on the issue. The page was also reliable because it was written in March 2008, making the information very current. The entire Web site the article was found on would be described as educational, and for the reasons previously stated I would recommend it to another student who wanted to learn about certain legal implications of the environment.

Web Evaluation:

A website that really helped me out is http://www.epa.gov/climatechange/kids/index.html. It is the kid's version of the website it stems from, http://www.epa.gov. The two government-controlled websites are regulated by the Environmental Protection Agency of the United States. While the larger website went into greater detail and had longer articles and more information, many of the articles used technical language that I found unnecessary and confusing. The layout was also hard to navigate. The website designed for children was easier to access and had the same information without the extra words. It was not biased or persuasive, but instead extremely factual. I would recommend this website to others who have trouble reading long and monotonous articles (i.e. have a short attention span).
